Nelson is a Founder & Managing Partner for [THE BLACKSTONE TEAM] (formerly Taylor & Associates), a top producing team of real estate professionals collaborating under the umbrella of Mott & Chace Sotheby's International Realty. 15 years ago, Nelson was one of the original creators and practitioners of the team concept in real estate in Rhode Island. [THE BLACKSTONE TEAM] is the culmination of 20 years of experience in the business, not only the highest producing team at Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty, but consistently one of the top teams by sales volume and transaction sides throughout the state.
Nelson is dedicated to his clients' success—be they be buying, selling, leasing or investing. With 20 years of experience as a real estate broker, Nelson is a tireless and savvy advocate for the best interests and goals of the buyers and sellers he works with. And with the help of the team process, Nelson offers his clients the best customer service in the local marketplace. While Nelson works in all facets of local real estate, his passions are educating first time home buyers, spearheading the pursuit of vacation/second homes, strategizing with investors on building portfolios and pinpointing emerging markets.
Nelson was born September 27th, 1969 in Dallas, Texas. He holds a BA from Rollins College, an MA from the University of North Texas and an MFA from the University of Alabama. Before embarking on a career in real estate in 2001, Nelson was a freelance travel journalist and is a published fiction writer. After taking a hiatus from writing while growing his family and career, Nelson again finds time to write fiction and lyrics. An album based on his lyrics, Alstead’s Songs of Lies, can be found on Spotify.
Nelson has two sons, Will and Reid, 17 and 14 respectively, who both attend The Moses Brown School. He owns two rental properties, an historic three-family in Providence’s Armory District, and a ski condo in Jay Peak, Vermont. Nelson is an outdoorsman and enjoys snow skiing, fly fishing, sporting clays and camping. He’s an avid reader, following contemporary writers and collecting signed first edition novels and short stories. Nelson lives on the East Side of Providence.
