Nelson is a Founder & Managing Partner for The Blackstone Team (formerly Taylor & Associates), a top producing team of real estate professionals collaborating under the umbrella of Mott & Chace Sotheby's International Realty. Over 20 years ago now, Nelson was one of the original creators and practitioners of the team concept in real estate in Rhode Island.
The Blackstone Team is the culmination of his experience in the business, with the help of his amazing partners. The Blackstone Team is not just the highest producing team at Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty, but consistently one of the top teams by sales volume and transaction sides throughout the state. In 2022, the team sales volume was $84 million, they closed 160 sides and successfully completed 24 rentals. Nelson is dedicated to his clients' success—be they be buying, selling, leasing or investing.Nelson is a tireless and savvy advocate for his clients’ best interests and goals.And with the help of the team process, Nelson offers his clients the best customer service in the local marketplace.
While Nelson works in all facets of local real estate, his passions are educating first time home buyers, spearheading the pursuit of vacation/second homes, strategizing with investors on building portfolios and knowing every nuances of the market within his home neighborhood of the East Side of Providence. Nelson was born September 27th, 1969 in Dallas, Texas. He holds a BA from Rollins College, an MA from the University of North Texas and an MFA from the University of Alabama. Before embarking on a career in real estate in 2001, Nelson was a freelance travel journalist and is a published fiction writer. After taking a hiatus from writing while growing his family and career, Nelson again finds time to write fiction and lyrics.An album based on his lyrics, Alstead’sSongs of Lies, can be found on Spotify.Nelson is also working on a cold case true crime podcast, based on the 1984 murder of Kathy Nicastro Luongo.He is also the President of the Mt Tom Land Trust, located in Exeter, Rhode Island. Nelson has two sons, Will and Reid, 19 and 16 respectively.Reid is a Sophomore in highschool at Moses Brown and Will is a Sophomore in college at Villanova.Nelson and his wife Kelly, a local interior designer, have owned a number of investment properties over the years.They currently own an historic three-family in Providence’s Armory District and an AirBnB unit attached to their primary residence—a brick Tudor—on the East Side of Providence.Nelson is an outdoorsman of all ilks, but his passions are snow skiing and fly fishing.He and Kelly bought a center-console boat in 2021—a 21-foot Key West—which they keep in Pawtuxet Village.But perhaps most of all, Nelson is avid reader and book collector, starting every morning with his face in a new chapter.
